Narciso Yepes International Festival

The Narciso Yepes International Festival was born in the year 1983 through the drive of the maestro and guitarist Narciso Yepes, known for having been one of the best classical guitarists in the world and for having invented the 10-chord guitar. This festival was celebrated at the church of Saint Corneli and Saint Cebrià until 1991, the year that The National Auditorium of Andorra was opened in Ordino.

Since 1998 The Festivals Association of Ordino, created by the ‘Crèdit Andorrà Foundation’ and The Council of Ordino, has organised the Narciso Yepes International Festival which has included such renowned performers as Yehudi Menuhin, Montserrat Caballé, Josep Carreras, Jean Pierre Rampal, Cristina Hoyos, Barbara Hendricks, The Scottish Chamber Orchestra, The National Chamber Orchestra of Andorra and The National Orchestra of the Capitole of Toulouse with Michel Plasson, among many others. The artistic director of the festival is Gerard Claret.
