Total wellbeing at the very source

Water is one of Andorra’s natural resources. The sulphur-rich river and lakeside hot springs in Escaldes-Engordany are great for therapy and beauty treatments, revering a sense of vitality, beating stress and treating or preventing rheumatism and skin ailments. The Principality is home to many wellness centres to fully enjoy your free time throughout the year.

Caldea: southern Europe’s largest spa centre

Caldea’s modern design and 30,345 m2 at 1,100 high are Andorra’s oasis – the ideal spot to enjoy the spa experience and discover the link between ancient civilisations and water. The majestic privileged setting of Caldea uses all the properties of Escaldes-Engordany’s hot springs to offer visitors spectacular aquatic facilities as well as a wide selection of massages and hydro-thermal or beauty treatments. The large indoor lake and its maximum 1.3m depth houses hot baths at 32-34ºc, high-pressurised water, steam masks, swan neck fountains and hydro-massages. There is also an outdoor jacuzzi, Indo-Roman baths, a fitness area with saunas, hammam patios, wood’s lamp, a Sirocco bath and hydro-massage, as well as an outdoor area with terraces, beauty booths and UVA lamps.

The water treatment selection is complemented by alternative activities including cuisine and cinema. “Caldea” is home to the "Oasis&restaurant serving healthy balanced cuisine exclusively for spa users, the panoramic “Sirius” bar enjoying unforgettable views out over the valley of Escaldes-Engordany, and the dynamic “Helimocio” cinema inviting visitors to uncover Andorra’s magnificent landscapes. “Caldea” plans to open 12,400 m2 in 2009. The extension will lead to the creation of a new area for wellness dedicated to total wellbeing with more private areas thanks to a total 37 million euro investment.
